Back to school
Alex and Maya were excited for their first day of school. They had new backpacks, filled with colorful supplies. Alex had a blue backpack with a picture of a rocket. Maya had a pink backpack with a sparkly unicorn.
Inside Alex's backpack was a pencil case with pencils, pens, and erasers. He also had a ruler, a notebook, and a lunchbox. Maya's backpack had a similar pencil case, plus colorful markers and a set of crayons. She also had a notebook with cute stickers and a pink lunchbox.
Their first class was math. They learned about numbers and shapes. Alex used his ruler to draw squares and triangles. Maya used her pencils to write down the numbers.
Next was art class. Alex and Maya used their crayons and markers to draw pictures. Alex drew a spaceship, and Maya drew a rainbow unicorn.
Then it was time for reading. They read a story about a cat and a dog. Alex followed along with his finger, and Maya read the words out loud.
After reading, they had music class. They sang songs and learned about different instruments. Alex tapped his pencil on his desk, and Maya clapped her hands to the rhythm.
Finally, it was time for recess. They went outside and played on the swings and slides. Alex ran around with his friends, and Maya played tag with the other girls.
When the day was over, Alex and Maya were tired but happy. They had learned so much and had so much fun. They couldn't wait for the next day of school.
