Salvēte omnēs! This is a Latin comprehensible input video series
that is particularly relevant to those of us who want to learn about the human body or study medicine.
I will only speak in Latin throughout the video,
using classical restored pronunciation.
You should turn on the Latin subtitles to see the spelling, and it'll be easier to understand the Latin roots.
My first disclaimer is: I am a Latin teacher, not a doctor.
My second disclaimer is: Not all medical terms are from Latin -
in fact a huge proportion of them are from Ancient Greek, another great language to learn!
One day I might make a follow up series in Ancient Greek.
My third disclaimer is that Latin has a very long history,
and some words mean one thing in earlier period, and another thing in a later period.
I'm most comfortable with speaking in Classical Latin,
but I will try to include some later usages when they are relevant to words that do appear in our modern anatomical terms.
For now, enjoy this video on the big body parts - magna membra.
