Changes in the Spanish city of Castellon in Resent time
The two maps given illustrate the developments made in the city of Castellon in Spain from 2000 to date. Over the time period in question, the city previously consisting of only few buildings such as a university, train station or so forth, has experienced spectacular developments, eventually having many other buildings erected in formerly unused areas.
Looking at the northern part of Castellon in 2017, a university stays where it was, unchanged to the east of which a brand new dormitory has been built for students. The area in the northern-west of the city has been cleared out from the forest, thus paving the way for a new shopping center. Meanwhile, the region in proximity to the town center saw further developments, with the train station being demolished after which a police office has been built, surging the train station to the north of city center. To the west of town center, an airport is now being constructed, making flights in and out of the city possible in the near future.
As regards the central and southern part of a city, people now can borrow a bike as a more eco-friendly means of transportation. To both east and west of that, completely new shopping malls have been opened, whereas the road alongside the city center has been pedestrianized which is now being used exclusively by pedestrians. Apart from that, Castellon can currently be recognized by its cinema and bars with clubs in the southern part of it, hence meeting the recreational needs of people.
