by DuoCards

"Time to eat children. vs Time to eat, children."
Ar suprantate, ką čia turiu omenyje?
Prieš tiesioginę kalbą taip pat vartojame kablelius.

Tačiau kartais *gali būti šiek tiek painu,* jei nededame kablelio:

"He is a nice and friendly man" -> "He is nice, friendly man."

"My best friend loves snakes, but not all of my friends like them."
"My teacher is very strict sometimes, but that's what I like about her."

Jį sudarome su *dalyku + have/has + praeities dalyvis.*

- kažką, kas *įvyko praeityje* - "I crashed my car into a bridge last week."
- kažką, kas *įvyko kelis kartus praeityje* - "I made jokes about him each time I saw him."
I lacked motivation for my exam, that's why it took me 3 attempts."
- mes naudojame išsireiškimą *ago* praeityje - "I met my wife 30 years ago."
Praeities paprastajame laike mes dažniausiai pridedame *-ed prie veiksmažodžių*. Tačiau yra *netaisyklingų veiksmažodžių*, kuriems reikia daugiau laiko įvaldyti.
Pradėkime nuo tų, kurie skiriasi visose trijose formose:
to bear (bore, borne)
pakęsti
to blow (blew, blown)
pūsti (pūtė, pūtė)

to creep (crept, crept)

"Imagine you won the lottery. What would you do?"

Imagine you encountered an ancient artifact. How perplexed would you be by its origins?
"She had published her first book by the time she was ten."

"Will you have gone to bed when I get back?"
Galime naudoti frazes kaip *by* arba *by the time* (tam tikru momentu prieš), *in* arba *in a day's time/in two months' time/in five years' time* (laikotarpio pabaigoje), kad nurodytume laikotarpį, per kurį veiksmas bus užbaigtas.

"If you study hard, you will pass the exam."
Sakinių dalių tvarka nekeičia prasmės. Bet būkite atsargūs su skyryba!
If I finish this course, I will be ready for the IELTS exam!
"If you freeze water, it becomes solid."
*Saugokitės skyrybos ženklų!* Jį vartojame *po* if sąlygos, bet ne prieš ją!
"Water becomes solid if you freeze it."

to confine
apriboti
If you confine your creativity, you do not reach your full potential.
*Pirmasis sąlyginis sakinys* vartojamas *būsimoms situacijoms, kurios, mūsų manymu, yra įmanomos:*
"If it rains, we will stay at home."
*Jei / kada + esamasis paprastasis laikas, bus + infinityvas*
Taip pat galite susidurti su tokiais atvejais kaip *unless, as long as, as soon as* arba *in case* vietoj *if*.
"I'll leave as soon as Lucy arrives."
"I don't want to do it unless you treat me with respect."
"I will show you to the kitchen in case you get hungry."
"You can call my sister as long as you stay just friends."

*Antrasis sąlyginis* naudojamas neįmanomoms situacijoms, kurios yra *mažai tikėtinos:*
"If we moved to a bigger house, we could get another dog."
Struktūra: *if sąlyga + būtasis paprastasis, would + bendratis*
Kai *if yra po veiksmažodžio be*, gramatiškai teisinga naudoti kaip *were*: "if I were, if she were."
"I wouldn't do that if I were you."
"If she was president, she would invest in education more."
"If he were a little nicer, I would consider him a good match."

"Jei būčiau atkreipęs daugiau dėmesio, man nereikėtų tiek mokytis."

O dabar „paskutinis bosas“.
"If I hadn't got the job in Tokyo, I wouldn't be with my current partner."
Šiuo atveju įsivaizduojame, kaip praeities pokytis turėtų įtakos dabartyje.
Struktūra: *if + past perfect, would + infinitive*
"It's really important. If it wasn't, I wouldn't have called you on your holiday."
Čia kalbėtojas paaiškina, kaip dabartinės situacijos pokytis turėtų įtakos praeityje.
