Sempre verifique novamente a ortografia e a gramática. *A pontuação* em inglês é diferente e, às vezes, *pode salvar vidas!* "Time to eat children. vs Time to eat, children." Consegue ver o que quero dizer aqui? Também usamos vírgulas antes do discurso direto. "She said, 'hurry up'!" Também sempre precisamos usar vírgulas após frases como however, nevertheless, to be honest, etc.
however
no entanto
She is very talented. However, she lacks confidence.
nevertheless
no entanto
I know it's raining. Nevertheless, I'm going for a walk.

"I like Eva, Marina, and Nicol." vs "I love cats, dogs and horses." I love my parents, Bill Gates and Pamela Anderson."
to adhere
aderir
The tape adheres well to the wall.

A pergunta final: *Quando usar uma vírgula entre adjetivos?* Usamos vírgulas entre adjetivos se pudermos usar *and* em vez de it: "He is a nice and friendly man" -> "He is nice, friendly man." Mas, *se não pudermos usar and entre eles, então não há vírgula*: "I adore delicious French croissants." Aqui não faria sentido dizer delicious e French croissants.

She cooked a scrumptious meal for us.
to purchase something
comprar algo
I need to purchase some new clothes for the party.
previous
anterior
The previous owner of the house left some furniture behind.

*Em geral, não use vírgulas na frente de but/and.* "I want to swim in the ocean but I am terrified of sharks." "My best friend loves snakes, but not all of my friends like them." "If you have time, call me."

*Cuidado com a terceira pessoa do singular!* Os examinadores deduzirão pontos se você errar. he, she, it - gosta, quer, faz... "My dog is called Miky, I love him!" Tenha cuidado com pessoas múltiplas: "My mother and I are ..."

tornar-se

With something which *we think is temporary.* "Michael is at university. He's studying history." These days most people are using email instead of writing letters." Agora é hora do *present perfect!* Nós o interpretamos com *sujeito + have/has + particípio passado.* "I have intoruduced myself."

She has been living in whimsical Africa since 1995.

I crashed my car into a bridge last week." - algo que *aconteceu várias vezes no passado* - "I made jokes about him each time I saw him." I lacked motivation for my exam, that's why it took me 3 attempts." - usamos a expressão *ago* no passado - "I met my wife 30 years ago."
to bear (bore, borne)
suportar
to blow (blew, blown)
soprar
The strong wind blew the papers off the table.
to be (was/were, been)
ser/estar
She was the top performer in last night's talent show.

to shrink (shrank, shrunk)
encolher

Agora vamos dar alguns exemplos desses *verbos irregulares com as mesmas formas no passado e no particípio passado:*
to creep (crept, crept)
esgueirar-se
I crept up the stairs so as not to wake the baby.
to cling (clung, clung)

to bid (bid, bid)
despedir-se
She bid farewell to her friends as she left for her new job abroad.
E muitas pessoas confundem o pretérito e o particípio nos verbos *to lie (contar uma mentira), to lie (deitar em uma superfície) e to lay (deitar):*
to lie (lied, lied)
mentir
He lied about his whereabouts to avoid getting into trouble.
to lie on a surface (lay, lain)
estar deitado sobre uma superfície
The cat lay on the sunny windowsill all afternoon.
to lay (laid, laid)
colocar
She laid the baby down in the crib.
What would you do?"
Imagine you encountered an ancient artifact. How perplexed would you be by its origins?
Usamos *past perfect simple (had + past participle)* para falar sobre *tempo até um certo ponto no passado:* "She had published her first book by the time she was ten." Também o usamos *para mostrar a ordem de dois eventos passados.* O past perfect mostra a ação anterior e o past simple a ação posterior: "When I got home I realized I had forgotten to buy groceries." "Sadly, the author died before he'd finished the series." Frequentemente usamos *already, still, just, ever, or never* com este tempo verbal. "She was the most astonishing woman I had ever seen."

to testify
testemunhar
The witness had testified in court before the new evidence was discovered.
Usamos o *past perfect continuous* para algo que *começou no passado e continuou até um determinado ponto no tempo:* "When George died, he and Anne had been married for nearly fifty years." ou para algo que *aconteceu várias vezes antes de um ponto no passado e continuou depois desse ponto:* "He was a wonderful guitarist. He had been playing ever since he was a teenager." ou quando estamos *relatando nossa experiência até um ponto no passado:* "My thirtieth birthday was the worst day I had ever had." e, assim como no presente perfeito, usamos *for e since* no passado perfeito.
She had been working tirelessly for months, hoping that her efforts would eventually yield significant results.

to sneak
esgueirar-se

to meddle
bisbilhotar
She had been meddling in their affairs for months without their knowledge.

"Will you have gone to bed when I get back?" Podemos usar frases como *by* ou *by the time* (em algum momento antes), *in* ou *in a day's time/in two months' time/in five years' time* (no final do período) para indicar o período de tempo em que a ação será concluída. "By the time I finish this course, I will have revised all English tenses." "In three years' time, I'll have graduated from university."

Practice makes perfect!
A prática leva à perfeição!
"If you study hard, you will pass the exam."
If I finish this course, I will be ready for the IELTS exam!
A condicional zero é apenas *baseada em fatos.* Há o tempo verbal *presente simples* em *ambos os lados*: "If you freeze water, it becomes solid." "Water becomes solid if you freeze it."

*A primeira condicional* é usada para *situações futuras que acreditamos serem possíveis:* "If it rains, we will stay at home." *cláusula if/when + presente simples, will + infinitivo* Você também pode se deparar com usos como *unless, as long as, as soon as* ou *in case* em vez de *if*. *O segundo condicional* é usado para situações impossíveis que são *improváveis de acontecer:* "If we moved to a bigger house, we could get another dog." Estrutura: *if clause + past simple, would + infinitive* Quando *if é seguido pelo verbo be*, é gramaticalmente correto usá-lo como *were*: "if I were, if she were." No entanto, você pode comumente usar e ouvir *if she/he was* e isso também é *correto*. "I wouldn't do that if I were you." "If she was president, she would invest in education more." "If he were a little nicer, I would consider him a good match."

"If I had paid more attention, I wouldn't have to study as much." Estrutura: *if + past perfect, would have + past participle*

Vamos conferir alguns exemplos: "If I hadn't got the job in Tokyo, I wouldn't be with my current partner." Estrutura: *if + past perfect, would + infinitive* "It's really important. If it wasn't, I wouldn't have called you on your holiday." Estrutura: *if + past simple, would have + past participle*
