My trip to Iceland

My visit to Iceland with the travel agency, Worldee, was an absolutely exhausting yet incredibly rewarding adventure. From the moment we arrived in Reykjavik, I was filled with a mix of excitement and confusion. The journey was demanding, with us sleeping in different places every night and staying in guesthouses with bunk beds.

I'll admit, the accommodations were not exactly the epitome of comfort, but my tired body hardly noticed. The scenery, both in the countryside and Reykjavik, was magical and beautiful. We explored awe-inspiring landscapes, including waterfalls, ice caves, and glaciers. I couldn't help but feel like a nervous little bugaboo as we ventured into these natural wonders, but the experience was worth every bit of anxiety.

One day, we hiked to a magnificent waterfall that left me in awe. The sheer power and beauty of it made my headache from the long journey fade away. We even ventured into an ice cave, where the glacial blue hues were absolutely mesmerizing. The feeling of walking through that frozen wonderland was surreal, though I did end up wet from some dripping ice.

We had the chance to witness the stunning beauty of the Northern Lights, the aurora, on a particularly clear night. Oh my goodness, it was a sight to behold! It felt like the universe itself had come alive just for us, and my tired body momentarily forgot its fatigue.

Despite the many challenges of our journey, I never once felt hungry. Our meals mostly consisted of Chinese instant noodles due to the remote locations we visited. It may not have been gourmet, but it filled our bellies just fine. Plus, the camaraderie with my fellow travelers made even those noodle nights memorable.

The trip coincided with a public holiday in Iceland, so there were plenty of people out and about, even in the most remote areas. We encountered a group of locals who were exploring a gorge, and they welcomed us with open arms. It was heartwarming to connect with the people of Iceland and share in their love for this incredible land.

Looking back, the journey left me absolutely exhausted, but I wouldn't change a thing. Iceland's natural beauty, the adventurous spirit of our group, and the unique experiences we shared made it an unforgettable trip, even if it left me feeling like a well-traveled but tired explorer.
