بِدَايةُ تَعَلُّمِ اللُّغَةِ العَرَبِيَّةِ

The beginning of learning Arabic

في قَرْيَةٍ صَغِيرَةٍ تُحِيطُها الجِبالُ وَالأَشْجَارُ،

In a small village surrounded by mountains and trees

كانَ هُنَاكَ طِفْلٌ يُدْعَى آدَمَ، يَعيشُ مَعَ أُسْرَتِهِ.

there was a child named Adam who lived with his family

كانَتِ اللُّغَةُ الأُمُّ لِأُسْرَتِهِ غَيْرَ العَرَبِيَّةِ،

His family's mother tongue was not Arabic,

وَكانَ يُحِبُّ الاسْتِماعَ إِلَى أَحادِيثِ الأَشْخَاصِ

and he loved listening to people's conversations

بِاللُّغَةِ العَرَبِيَّةِ فِي السُّوقِ وَالمَسْجِدِ.

in Arabic in the market and the mosque

فِي يَوْمٍ مِنَ الأَيَّامِ، سَأَلَ آدَمُ والِدَهُ:

One day, Adam asked his father:

لِماذا لَا أَتَكَلَّمُ اللُّغَةَ العَرَبِيَّةَ مِثْلَ بَعْضِ أَصْدِقَائِي؟

Why don't I speak Arabic like some of my friends?

أُرِيدُ أَنْ أَتَعَلَّمَهَا!

I want to learn it!

ابْتَسَمَ الوالِدُ وَقَالَ:

The father smiled and said:

اللُّغَةُ العَرَبِيَّةُ جَمِيلَةٌ وَعَريقَةٌ،

Arabic is a beautiful and ancient language,

وَسَأُسَاعِدُكَ عَلَى تَعَلُّمِهَا.

and I will help you learn it.

فِي الصَّباحِ التّالِي،

The next morning,

أَحْضَرَ الوالِدُ كِتابًا لِتَعْلِيمِ الأَحْرُفِ العَرَبِيَّةِ.

the father brought a book to teach the Arabic letters.

بَدَأَ يُعَلِّمُ آدَمَ الأَحْرُفَ وَطَرِيقَةَ كِتابَتِها.

He began to teach Adam the letters and how to write them.

قالَ: "هَذا أَلِفٌ، يَكْتُبُ كَهذا: (أ).

He said, "This is an Alif, it is written like this: (أ)

وَهَذا باءٌ، كِتَابَتُهُ هَكَذا: (ب).

And this is a Ba, it is written like this (ب)

كَانَ آدَمُ يُحَاوِلُ كِتابَةَ كُلِّ حَرْفٍ،

Adam tried to write each letter,

وَكَانَ يَفْرَحُ كَثِيرًا

and he was very happy
